By accessing and using FastFamilyTree ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

FastFamilyTree is a medical family history pedigree drawing tool designed for healthcare professionals, genetic counsellors, and genomic scientists. The Service allows users to:

• Create standardized medical pedigrees
• Document family medical histories
• Export pedigrees as PDF or JSON files
• Save work locally on their devices

3. User Accounts and Registration

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Intended Use and Professional Responsibility

This Service is intended for healthcare professionals and researchers. Users agree that:

• They are qualified to interpret and use medical pedigrees
• The Service is a documentation tool, not a diagnostic tool
• Professional judgment should guide all clinical decisions
• They will comply with applicable healthcare regulations (HIPAA, PHIPA, etc.)
• They are responsible for protecting patient confidentiality

5. Data Storage and Privacy

No PHI Storage: FastFamilyTree does not store Protected Health Information (PHI) or personal medical data on our servers. All pedigree data is:

• Stored locally in your browser
• Downloaded to your device when exported
• Your responsibility to secure and protect

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by GeneScreen Inc. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Pedigrees you create using the Service remain your intellectual property. You retain all rights to the pedigrees and data you generate.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Transmit malicious code or viruses
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. This is BETA software and may contain bugs or limitations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeneScreen Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Beta Software Notice

FastFamilyTree is currently in BETA. This means the Service is still under development and may contain bugs, errors, or limitations. We appreciate your feedback and patience as we continue to improve the platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
